Day 22: Movie Remakes

Day 22: Movie Remakes

Thanks to everyone who has supported the film so far! It means a lot to have all the support. Today's film story is about all of the film remakes we have made. Our first film remake was Home Alone. It was just a fun Christmas video we made. I never thought I would end up making a whole series of film remakes. I took all of my favorite movies and shortened them down into 10-20 minute remakes including a lot of my favorite scenes from the film.

A lot of people may wonder why we did this. Well not only did we have fun replicating some of our favorite movies, but I learned more about making movies than I ever thought I would. When you are remaking a film you have to look at the ways they pulled off certain shots and scenes. When you study a film or even a specific scene you get to learn so much about making movies. I have to credit where I am in my career now to making all of these film remakes.

The film remakes started simple, but got difficult doing remakes such as Back to the Future 2 and Ghostbusters. These films are special effects heavy so I also learned a lot about special effects and editing. I really improved my After Effects skills by remaking these films. The effects don't even compare to the movie, but it was all about the learning to me. If I could even come a little close to pulling off a similar shot to Steven Spielberg I was happy. Check out all of our movie remakes below.

What I learned: Remaking films taught me the basics of film along with the most complicated aspects of it.
