Pre-production for Cottonwood continues as we have less than a month until we start filming. The script is still being refined as we are into our third draft now. I am still working on getting locations and the proper equipment. We are really trying to create the town of Cottonwood as a fictional town, but I want the audience to feel like it is a real place. In actuality we are filming in my hometown of Windom, Minnesota. Recreating Windom as Cottonwood brings a list of challenges, but makes for one interesting experience. Everything that says Windom will have to either be practically changed or done in post-production. The story brings the characters to other places outside of Windom like Mankato, MN and rural areas around Windom. This is a small town film about a small town and I want to keep it the small town feel as much as possible. The next coming weeks are going to be extremely busy so keep a look out for weekly updates on the progress that has been made.
