Cottonwood Update #5: Back in Windom

I just got back to Windom from Chicago a couple of days ago and things have been in full force. We have started to build props and sets. I am starting to train in the crew on the new equipment. There is a lot of great new stuff we got that no one, but me knows how to use. There will be a lot more days of training and this is not easy stuff. We have also been building rigs to transport gear. We have some big equipment that needs to get hauled around and we don't have a 5 ton film truck. We have mine and my brothers cars so we have to get creative.

This is what I love about low budget film making. You have to get really creative to pull off what Hollywood does. We have $5900 to work with while they spend millions and millions of dollars. You really have to think frugally when you have such a small budget. It is really fun though having the crew over building stuff out of scrap wood. I have always loved building stuff and so this phase pre-production is a lot of fun. We have a couple of sets we need to build for the film. The locations have been scouted and we are planning on how we want to build them.

There is so much going on for the film and it is awesome to have the cast and crew be so heavily involved in the whole process. Until next time!
