Cottonwood Update #19: Body in the Lake and the Next Steps

There is one final scene that needs to be filmed, but all of the main actors are done. It is more of an extra scene that we need for the end of the film. So with filming being right there at the very end I want to talk about one of the last scenes we filmed and the next step.

One of the last scenes in the film takes place on Cottonwood Lake and features a bunch of boats. We were able to get a bunch of boats in the background to really make this scene come alive. The boats, of course, were looking for a dead body.

We were able to get our EMT Captains (Damon and Cathy) to come back for their roles and also Dane to play a police officer. It is always fun having these guys in the film. Thanks Dane, Cathy, and Damon.

It was also awesome to have Jeff and Jason bring an official boat out to the lake to help with the scene. Really adds a lot of realism. It is also always great when these two guys get to come help. I really can't thank Jeff and Jason enough for their help with this film.

My dad manned the camera boat and we had a little crowd watching. It was a great day of filming. Thanks to everyone who brought their boats out and helped make this scene happen.

The next big step is editing. Taking thousands of clips of video and audio and putting them all together. I will continue to do weekly updates on how the film is coming from ideas I have to updates on the premiere date and the future of this film.
